Specialty:
Nuclear Cardiology, administration
Philosophy:
I believe the most important thing that we can do in medicine is to care about our patients. Not just care for them but care about them. Working in this field has helped me to develop a proper perspective on life; its fragility and genuine empathy for our patients. In my current role at Hartford Cardiology, I hope to assemble like-minded staff, create a caring and compassionate environment and make coming to see our medical providers as pleasant an experience as possible.
Profile:
I started my career in nuclear medicine 23 years ago working at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale University where I was involved in both clinical nuclear medicine and medical research. From there I went on to help open the new Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory at Hartford Hospital where I served as department manager and helped to develop the nuclear cardiology animal research lab. I continued my career in the Hartford area as a co-owner of Connecticut Cardiovascular Services which began as a mobile imaging service and grew to provide nuclear cardiology services at fixed sites as well. It was here that Dr. Knox and I first met and began working together. My knowledge of starting a nuclear lab took me next to Westerly, RI where I opened a new lab for Cardiology Specialists, Ltd. where I worked as the chief technologist for the next seven years. It was from there that I reunited with Dr. Knox to join Hartford Cardiology Group as the practice manager.
